This year, the manifestation "Days of the Drina Regatta" in Ljubovija marked a great jubilee - 25 years of existence. Traditionally, every other
weekend in July for a quarter of a century, this regatta has grown into one of the most visited and beloved summer events in
Serbia, gathering tens of thousands of visitors from the country and abroad, all under the symbolic slogan - "Fix the Drina".
The regatta is not just a boat race - it is a symbol of freedom, nature, togetherness and authentic Serbia. During the five
days, from July 8 to 12, 2025, Ljubovija was the regional center of recreational tourism, music, sports, crafts and cultural exchange.
The 40 km waterway, and about eight hours of unforgettable socializing on the waves of the unique Drina, began in Rogačica, and its destination was in Ljubovija.
The regatta in Ljubovija is known as "the longest regatta in Europe". The pioneers and initiators of this event descended the Drina for the first time
on a Saturday in July 2000, all with the aim of preserving the tradition of rafting in Podrinje. The event has been developing and growing ever since. This year's regatta
was officially opened by Sara Ćirković, a member of the Serbian national team in boxing, who was greeted with thunderous applause!
Numerous journalists and media crews were also present at the regatta, transmitting the great atmosphere from Ljubovija all over the country!
Sailing with music, smiles at every step, flags, socializing and euphoria - everything was there!
And as icing on the cake – traditional military beans in Gornja Trešnjica! The participants enjoyed a homemade snack, a break and a great mood.
As part of this year's Drina Regatta Days, on the occasion of the great jubilee - 25 years of the event - Ljubovija had
honor to host one of the biggest names of the local music scene - Željko Samardžić.
His concert was held on Friday, July 11, at the area near the City Pool, where we had
an unforgettable evening full of emotions, good sound and singing together.
